The Titan Boys varsity basketball team defeated Sylvan Hills in a home conference game on Friday, January 24th.

The Bears lead by two at the end of the first quarter, but JHS rallied to gain the lead in the second quarter and increase it in the third quarter. Both teams scored 12 points in the fourth quarter for a final score of 57-51 in favor of the Titans.

Over 1,000 people attended the game.

The two teams were tied at 3-0 in conference play before the game. JHS rose to 4-0 in conference play after the game but remained steady in both state (10th) and national (435) rankings.

The JHS girls team also played Sylvan Hills but came up short, losing 49-51 after a heartbreaking buzzer basket from Sylvan Hills at the end of the game. The Titan girls dropped to 3-1 in conference play after the game, but the loss did not affect the team’s state (50) or national (2458) ranking.

Both JHS teams will take on Watson Chapel at home on Tuesday, January 28th.
