The Titan varsity boys won an away game at Maumelle with a last second shot at the buzzer on Friday January 31, 2020.

The game started off close with Maumelle leading after the first quarter 11-13, but the Titans took a 23-25 lead going into halftime. Fresh from halftime, the Titans started it off  third quarter with a dunk, which swung the game’s momentum even further to their side.

The remainder of the game was intense with the Titans pushing their lead up to 6 and Maumelle refusing to allowed it to go any higher. A series of turnovers positioned Maumelle to gain the lead (42-40) after hitting a deep buzzer beater at the end of the third quarter.

The fourth quarter was full of energy from both teams, but the Titans crawled away with a 55-53 win at the buzzer after Junior Braxton Brown passed the ball to Senior Davonte Davis.

“I got the ball in the last seconds of the game and made the decision to throw it to Davonte. He made the basket, and we won! It was fun to assist with such an exciting win,” Brown said,

The shot allowed the Titans to remain undefeated in conference play. The team’s record is now 7-0 after a win at LR Hall Tuesday, February 4, 2020.
